The BOLD idea of growing the first international streetwear label proudly made in Romania came out downtown Bucharest, in the summer of 2010. December the same year marked the entry of BOLD fashion on the Romanian market, with a sample collection of prints gathered under the Down to Earth statement.
In July 2011, BOLD fashion became among the very few Romanian bloded labels to attend to Bread & Butter Berlin - the most important streetwear fashion trade-fair in Europe. This is when BOLD began its international journey, after receiving important orders from quite a few shops in Europe and consequently signing a distribution agrement with an Asian-market distribution company based in Hong-Kong.This short note is meant to mark another beginning for BOLD, on the largest, most amazing and wonderful market that ever existed - the Online World. What you are now experiencing is the first issue of BOLD Magazine - scaled as an app for iPods and iPads - a quarterly which will be constantly updated, even within one issue.
This winter our BOLD statement is Come As You Are! Check the hottest BOLD News, enjoy the lookbook
of this BOLD season in the Cover Story, celebrate the BOLD Collaborations and finally meet our BOLD muse starring in BOLD Moods, our visual story for this season.
Meanwhile, the BOLD Facebook page and the newly born Twitter account are to remain the main communication tools for the label, which intends to grow and spoil its social media community.
But maybe the most important beginning (which we are delaying a bit, because we are trying our best to make your shopping experience perfect) is the BOLD online shop, scheduled to be launched at the end of this month.
Please, be patient with the irregularities of the platform and kindly feedback us at bold@boldfashion.ro, if you want us to improve. Stay tuned! The BOLD Team

The Proudly Made in Romania streetwear label finally hit the streets in December 2011. After one full year of presence on the Romanian market, the BOLD team felt the need to organize an open house for its friends.
The past year was one of tryouts for the BOLD team. And December felt like the perfect moment to speak out the BOLD message from the City-Center, as it was written on the back-neck tag of every BOLD t-shirt.
The BOLD team squatted an eighty square meters abandoned apartment in the historical area of Bucharest, the melting-pot of Romanian pop-culture. The space was developed as a mirror for the Romanian pop-culture of the year 2012, and it was reconstructed with bare hands and very few resources.
Its widest room became the BOLD lounge, full of media tools of all kinds and from various time periods. Here you could drink a Nespresso coffee, have a Campari cocktail or a Grolsch beer while reading from a wide range of media products - from tabloids to books or luxury magazines. It's concrete walls were filled with social statement collagescut from various Romanian press headlines. The second room was developed by the BOLD architect as an unconventional shop display. A BOLD installation of pipes served as hanger for t-shirts and deposit boxes on wheels filled the space. The third room - the BOLD office - was welcoming you with a BOLD decalogue (see on Facebook) placed right at its entrance.
Even though the BOLD Squat House is officially closed since December 24th, BOLD is welcoming everyone to come check its showroom. Unfortunately, due to a barely nonexistent heating system in mid winter and after some very busy holidays, the BOLD team might not be there every day. If you are in the neighborhood just call the ringer downstairs (second button from above) at number 4 on Covaci Street and look up to the BOLD balcony (easy to spot). If nobody throws you the BOLD key, just go home and drop us a line at bold@boldfashion.ro. One way or the other you'll get to see the BOLD pop-up home till the end of March, when the BOLD caravan might move somehwere else and start a new season of experiments.

Collaborations Table of Contents BOLD on Facebook BOLD on Twitter
The BOLD team is looking for constant collaborations with entities that represent the BOLD philosophy. Its newest project consists in a sample series of BOLD Loverboy Prints - in collaboration with Strada Film, the producers of Loverboy, the newest Romanian pop-movie, directed by Catalin Mitulescu.
Straight from the beginning the BOLD youngsters thought of unconventional ways to develop and promote their newly born streetwear label. It all started in December 2010, when Alex Galmeanu - famous Romanian photographer and BOLD friend - was invited to exhibit a series of twelve photographies - taken during a visit to United States - on BOLD t-shirts. Everything was celebrated with a PR event - and a very cool t-shirt installation - held at Gaia Boutique Club, a huge night-life attraction in Bucharest.
The t-shirt printed with the middle finger pointed towards the White House became a great success. As a result, BOLD and Alex Galmeanu will be working together for a new project sooner than you think. The second BOLD collaboration was developed especially for the Bread and Butter Trade Show for selected brands, together with anonymous graffiti artist Jondoe. The small series of peace-friendly drawings will be available in some skate-shops in Bucharest and online starting March 15th, 2012.
Finally, BOLD started another great collaboration this past year was with the young fashion designer Lucian Broscatean. Lucian is one of the most interesting and interested young Romanian designers and his series
of BOLD compositions were the result of a deep documentation process, which had the famous I Met The Walrus short movie as as starting-point.
Going back to the BOLD+Loverboy prints, they will
be soon available online - both in our soon to be launched e-shop and on the Loverboy website and app. BOLD and Strada Film are also preparing a nice and smooth event
to promote the t-shirts this spring, so stay in touch with Facebook and Twitter - our online communication tools.
Of course, you should expect more and more interesting collaborations during every BOLD season.
